Electrum-Near serves as a reliable Near wallet, combining convenience and functionality.
With a unique passphrase for protection, you can remain calm, knowing that potential intruders are kept at bay.
Whether stored physically or memorized, rest assured that your Near assets are safeguarded against theft or hardware malfunctions.
ATTENTION
Electrum-Near is an adaptation of the popular Bitcoin wallet,
Electrum, developed by the community and specially configured to support
Near. Although this project is not directly associated with Electrum Technologies GmbH,
the official developer of Electrum, it is still crafted with the highest standards of security and usability.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Prior to version 3.2.3, Electrum and Electrum-Near had vulnerabilities that allowed phishing attacks,
where malicious servers could offer users to download counterfeit software. To protect our users,
we have taken several steps: older versions can no longer connect to public servers,
and we strongly advise updating to the latest version. Download software updates exclusively from
the official websites electrum.org and electrum-near.org to ensure the security and reliability of your wallet.

Recommendations for Windows users:
-
We are pleased to announce that we have successfully fixed the issue related to certain antivirus programs
that previously could temporarily slow down the loading of Electrum-Near binary files.
Now you can be confident in the security and reliability of our product. If you trust the project's developers,
you can verify the GPG signature of Electrum-Near binary files and use them confidently. If you have doubts,
it's recommended to compile the binary files yourself or run the software directly from the source code.

Some older versions of Windows may need the installation of update KB2999226.

Yes, absolutely.
- Is there a version of Electrum-NEAR for Android and iOS?

>.
- What is a 'seed'?
-
Electrum-Near uses a 128-bit random seed to create your private keys. This seed is represented by a 12-word mnemonic phrase.
Regular backups are not required, as your wallet can be recovered from the seed, which you can memorize or write down on paper.
-
How do I transition to Electrum-Near from my old Near wallet?
-
The best way to transition to Electrum-Near is to transfer all your Near from your old wallet to one of the addresses in Electrum-Near.
This ensures that all your Near are protected by your seed. While older versions of Electrum could import private keys from another client,
they needed to be separately backed up, as they couldn't be restored using the Electrum seed.
- What does 'freeze' an address mean?
-
Freezing an address prevents the funds in that address from being used to send Near.
You won't be able to send Near if you don't have enough funds in non-frozen addresses.
- Where is my wallet file located?
- A default wallet file called default_wallet is created in the /wallets folder when you first run the application.
On Windows, this directory is typically located at \Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\Local\Electrum-Near.
On all other operating systems, it is located in ~/.electrum-Near.
- What is the gap limit?
-
The gap limit is the maximum number of consecutive unused addresses in your deterministic sequence of addresses.
Electrum-Near uses this limit to stop generating new addresses. By default, this limit is set to 5,
prompting the client to generate new addresses until 5 unused addresses are found.
